This picture of the flower stalk of an Agave plant was taken in June at Boyce Thompson Arboretum State Park in Superior, AZ. This plant is a variety of an agave commonly known as a Century Plant as it was thought that they bloomed once every 100 years. Though this plant does take years to bloom, a century is an exaggeration.
